. . . . ways people grow

history

In a 1971 a psychology professor suggested a book - "A Catalog of the Ways People Grow" by Severin Petersen as a reference for development of the whole person.  From Akido to Zen, 331 pages of personal overview.  I am still making my personal way through the book.

In 2012 I was invited by the Fetzer Institute to attend their Global Gathering in Assisi.  More than 500 people gathered to share their stories of Love and Foregiveness.  I was one of twelve invited to attend as a "Future Collaborator"

- to look for synergies across Fetzer's many groundbreaking projects and programs that are building the spiritual foundation for a loving world.

In 2014 I joined the Charter for Compassion and started to build this website as a shared knowledge database - creating a transmedia expansion of the original catalog.

FIND YOUR GIFT

"There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it.

It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep yourself open and aware to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. … No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others.”    MARTHA GRAHAM

philosphy

Creativity is not limited to the gifted ones of the population, and compassion is not limited to the spiritual. Both can be sought, taught, nurtured, and enhanced.
